Headshot of Sean Malone

Sean Malone helps attorneys address complex issues involving economics, finance, statistics, econometrics, and large datasets. His work focuses on disputes where quantitative evidence is central, including class actions, consumer fraud, financial services, civil rights and discrimination, antitrust support, valuation disputes, property damage, and economic damages.

Dr. Malone applies econometric, statistical, and financial methods to evaluate causation, damages, classwide approaches, market behavior, sampling, and the reliability of quantitative evidence. His work includes assessing whether statistical samples are representative, whether assumptions are supported by the record, and whether conclusions can be reliably generalized to broader populations.

Before founding Harbor View Group LLC, Dr. Malone built a strong foundation in economic research and litigation consulting at Analytic Focus and IMS Legal Strategies. There, he collaborated with economists, statisticians, data analysts, finance experts, and industry specialists on complex litigation matters. His experience spanned class actions, antitrust, financial services, consumer fraud, civil rights, valuation disputes, and economic damages, serving in analytical roles that included Senior Research Associate, Associate Director of Analytics, and Senior Vice President of Economics and Statistical Analysis.

Dr. Malone teaches finance and statistics at the university level. His consulting and teaching background enables him to provide clear explanations of complex economic, financial, and statistical ideas to attorneys, judges, juries, and other decision-makers. He has published on securities litigation, event studies, and damages methods, contributing to the Comprehensive Guide to Economic Damages and Law360.

Dr. Malone has authored expert reports, rebuttal reports, and declarations and has provided testimony in depositions and at trial. He has been retained by both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state court matters.
